Signs and Symptoms of TMD or TMJ
(Temporomandibular Disorders)
Although symptoms will vary from person to person, the most common symptoms are:
Temporal Headaches
Migraine-type Headaches
Tension Headaches Popping or Clicking of the Jaw Joints
Ringing in the ears
Jaw muscle pain
Various other symptoms include:
- Tenderness in the jaw muscles
- Frequent headaches
- Migraine type headaches
- Dull, aching pain in the face, sinuses, or eyes
- Ear pain
- Neck muscle and shoulder pain
- Clicking noises in the jaw joints
- Popping noises or sounds in the jaw joints
- Locking of the jaw or limited ability to open wide
- Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
- Jaw Joint Pain
- Dizziness or vertigo
- Worn, loose, or sensitive teeth
- Pain when talking or smiling
- Poor posture
- Difficulty eating, chewing and swallowing
